Each week an artist or arts thinker gives a public presentation drawing from the specific concerns, conversations, and haranguings of their artistic discipline. Against the background of the Cooper Union, a school of fine art in a state of financial crisis, our project is to look toward the crises inherent in and among artistic disciplines themselves, and to imagine how these crises can form a basis for our learning as artists, both with and without institutions.
Join us September 6th to get the lay of the land with:
"As We Lay Dying," a lecture by The Bruce High Quality Foundation
For the opening salvo of The Intradisciplinary Seminar, fall 2016, Seth Cameron (The Bruce High Quality Foundation, BHQFU) presents an oral and visual history of The Bruce High Quality Foundation, highlighting their recent immersive sculptural and performance installation, "As We Lay Dying," at the Watermill Center on Long Island. A rumination on BHQFU, New York's Freest Art School, will also be featured as the school launches its first year-round residency, the MFU Studio + Teaching Program, on the occasion of its seventh anniversary.

Seth Cameron is a painter and writer and part of The Bruce High Quality Foundation. The Foundation creates installations, videos, paintings, sculptures, performances, and institutions that reveal our collective creative agency within the seemingly monolithic forces of art and social history. The Foundation has exhibited in The Whitney Biennial, the Venice Bienniale, and the Lyon Bienniale. The past few years have included exhibitions with The Lever House, Vito Schnabel, Mark Fletcher, and Acquavella Gallery in New York; Galerie Bruno Bischofberger in Zurich; Almine Rech Gallery in Brussels; and McClaine Gallery in Houston. In 2012 the Foundation did a national arts education tour with Creative Time. In 2013 The Brooklyn Museum hosted its first museum retrospective. Cameron currently serves as President of BHQFU.
